Josh Karas is a Nashville-based pianist, composer, and producer whose unmatched versatility and commitment to excellence have made him one of the most sought-after talents in the city’s vibrant music scene. Known for his ability to seamlessly navigate a wide range of musical styles, Josh has become an in-demand collaborator in both the pop and jazz worlds. His experience spans playing with a diverse array of artists, including pop sensation Emmy Rose Russel, Iam Tongi (American Idol finalist), Alyssa Allgood, Onoleigh, The 12 South Band, Amanda Shaw, Sofia Goodman, and Shane Weisman. His live performance credits also include extensive touring across the United States, South America, and Asia.

In addition to his performance career, Josh is a skilled producer with a strong track record in sync music. His tracks have been featured in high-traffic YouTube videos, generating millions of views, as well as various advertisements. As a pianist and producer, he brings a unique blend of musicality and technical expertise to every production.

Josh's formal training includes a Bachelor of Jazz Studies from Vanderbilt University, where he became the first graduate of the school’s award-winning jazz program in May 2022. During his time at Vanderbilt, he studied with Bruce Dudley (jazz piano), Ryan Middagh (composition), and Amy Dorfman (classical piano). His contributions to the jazz program earned him five Downbeat Student Music Awards and the honor of having his composition featured in the 2022 Jazz Education Network Young Composer's Showcase. His classical background and jazz expertise allow him to bring a depth of musicality to any genre, from pop to jazz to classical.

A highly skilled accompanist, Josh regularly collaborates with choirs including the St. Matthews Children's Choir and various MNPS choirs. He is also well-versed in recording, whether remotely in his fully equipped home studio or at top recording facilities throughout Nashville, delivering professional-level tracks for clients across the country.

In addition to his freelance work, Josh leads his original jazz fusion group, The Karas Committee. Known for their high-energy performances and intricate compositions, the group has captivated Nashville audiences at renowned venues like Rudy's Jazz Room, The Analog, and Sambuca. The band is currently preparing for the release of their debut record in early 2025, which will feature Josh’s original compositions and arrangements, blending elements of jazz, R&B, and funk into a fresh, dynamic listening experience.
